Okay...so I fill out job applications for jobs I can physically handle...and no one ever calls me back.
Before I knew I had ADHD and bi-polar disorder...as well as a host of other conditions...It was easy to get hired. Now that I have to list that stuff "under penalty of perjury" on the applications...well...no one will hire me. Even though I also note that I'm medicated and regularly seeing a doctor for treatment.
Isn't this discrimination??? I'm currently on disability because of this...and I know there's some kind of "americans with disabilities" act that protects people with disabilities and deals with employment discrimination. Even if I have mental disorders...I'm medicated and I think I at least deserve to be given the chance to have a job like the rest of the normal world.

Hmmm, that's weird. It's been a while since I applied for a job, but in the past I've applied for jobs in 4 different states and don't remember ever having to tell them that sort of medical information. Here is a link to a page I found that has some FAQs about the Americans With Disabilites Act. www.healthieryou.com/ada.html

That is a catch-22-----disclosing that a person HAS a disability----then, revealing the information can also open up a lot of other issues because of the HIPPA law (Health Information and Privacy Act). I am in the same boat-----to disclose or not to disclose??? To fib or not to?? Anybody else have any experiences to tell about?
