I was diagnosed this Fall. I tried Strattera but after two weeks of clarity I became very "zoned". I never felt groggy but would sit and go into a deep sleep. One weekend I slept 36 of 48 hours. The doctor switched me to Adderall XR I take 20 mg. It is doing good but at about 4 or 5 p.m. I feel like the dimmer switch has been turned... I start losing the clarity and the motivation. My work preformance has improved but the only time I get things done at home is on the weekends but that is better than not at all. I see MD on the10th and maybe there is a solution, Does anyone take a booster in the afternoon? Is it typical for the XR to get out of system after 8 hours?

TEXTHello, I am new to the board and recently was put on Adderall. It has been quite some time since your post and I was wondering if you were able to level yourself out in the afternoons. I get the same thing about 5 pm or so (which would be 8 hours after taking the med) and end up getting nothing done for the rest of the day at work. Thanks and cheers!
