Hello to everyone...I am so grateful to have found this site. I am 27 and just recently diagnosed w/ ADD. It's feels great to know that I was not the failure that my adopted mother treated me like growing up...and makes me wonder what I might have amounted to if I had been diagnosed earlier. I always felt I had potential...but never could understand why I never followed through. But even though this great conclusion has been put before me... I am currently struggling with how to find the right treatment/meds to help me. I have two young daughters who are 7 and 3...and I feel more scatterbrained than ever. I should also mention that I was diagnosed with depression/anxiety first and put on celexa...it made me fall asleep...and hungry all the time...my psych. added wellbutrin for appetite and energy...but it made my anxiety worse and I became more forgetful and spacey...and I still felt very tired...which led her to believe I was ADD. So now I am taking Celexa and Concerta....and I feel more anxiety than ever....no speediness nor fatigue...just very angry and sad....I am still forgetting things and still cannot plan things out. Which frustrates me..because a year ago...I felt I had it together...but I guess the time came like everything else...where I just couldn't follow through with the planners/calendars, etc....Sorry to post such a long intro...

Greetings,
I believe that you need to see about changing your Celexa to something that will work for you, it sounds like when your Dr. found out that the initial medication didn't work he/she should have tried something else instead of adding more medications to you. I personally have not been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD by a health proffessional (no current health insurance, that ship sailed at the beginning of May) but I began taking a mild dose of prozac in April for panic attacks & suddenly for the first time in my life I could FOCUS on 3 things at once instead of 8, even focus on one for short periods of time. I found a book at the library & have every single symptom so after reading 3 more I know that I have it. My advice to you is tell your Dr to try a different medication & if they are not willing to find a Dr that specializes in ADD/ADHD & is more flexible. GL Lilacflame

I take 20 mg celexa at night... (depression)helps me sleep then take 20 mg adderall xr (add) in the morning.. It's worked well for me.. I did feel sleepy on first week on celexa but now I feel ok.. Mornings are hard for me. It takes me awhile to get my thoughts in order and doing things.. I immediately have coffee to wake me then I take adderall ..

I love my job even when I volenter, I wanted to share this post with you to let you know about myself. I also wanted to let you know that if it was not for my learning disabiltes I would have never worked at The Museam of Nartual History, through my school, and would not be who I am today. I like thinking the way I do, and I have add to thank for a part of it, I also would love to be a teacher, and many quiltys I have are good for that
