...ever have a day off and have a list of things to be done, and then you can't find the list because the table has so much mess on it......but----yes! there is a list of the list......so you (after some time) pick something on the list to accomplish (!).......you head to the (fill in the blank) to start on the project, and find that you need a hammer/whatever......can't find it in the house ANYWHERE, but know that there are three SOMEWHERE in that house.....so, you decide the quickest thing to do is jump in the car and head to the dollar store to buy a NEW one (whatever you need and can't find).....the dollar store is a very bad place for ADD people sometimes----too much cheap stuff----and FINALLY!!!! you return home 2 hours later to start on the first thing on your to-do list, but first you have to put down the bag of things you bought while buying the hammer/whatever-----just MORE stuff to add to what is already on the clutter pile......
Geez....tell me someone can relate.......so I can feel a bit Normal!!!! Else I have it BAD......(I am laughing at myself now, anyhow).......ha ha
It feels so good to have others understand on this website!!!!!! ;D

I hate it when that happens! How about this? I am amazed that there is not a rut in the middle of our sidewalk from all the times I walk back and forth to the car before I finally leave because everytime I get in the car, bam! I remember something else I was supposed to bring along or drop off or get done.

as for the rut in the sidewalk....I do that too and STILL end up forgetting something important....like directions to where I'm going....and the phone number so I can call in case I get lost or I've forgotten to bring the directions.
Oh..and we moved 4 years ago and I still haven't unpacked enough to find the blender. I get started...like I'll go through a single box and start organizing...then before I know it I have a full trash can (but I have to have had something packed away and not used for years before I can actually throw it away...or I have to be really tired of repacking it) and I've organized one box worth of contents into 3 new boxes. I usually have plans to continue that and have the stuff super organized into these boxes....but every time I open another box (6 months to 1 year later) I start the process over.....so now I have an entire barn full of half packed boxes and I don't know what's in any of them. Last year I found a box with newborn diapers in it...ones I haven't used since 1997, Oops.
On the bright side...it's kinda like christmas...you find all kinds of goodies you forgot that you had. I found an ear-piercing kit a couple of years ago...took it out of the box and moved it into the house and have used it once since bringing it in. Hubby hates that...tells me to quit bringing in clutter that I don't use.

I have bad allergies so I decided to throw or give away all the junk in my house. I've spent 4 years cleaning and throwing away things from my childhood, lists, piles of organizing tools, etc. And I STILL find notes from 1st grade, my very first to-do-list and a broken shoe rack everytime I clean! I don't want this junk! I'm quite sure it crawls out of the garbage bags when I'm not looking. Giving things away goes like this: 1. Sort piles of clothes (or whatever) 20 times 2. Pack 1/2 of clothes 3. 3 months later find boxes to fit other 1/2 in (i.e: dump boxes of lists on the floor so you can finally get rid of these clothes) 4. 3 months later dig through boxes to find an old shirt/skirt/previously ugly, but now fashionable scarf 5. 5 weeks later repack and move boxes to garage so boxes can go straight to car once car is cleaned out 6. Stub your toe on boxes and throw them on the junk in your car 7. Drive around with boxes and junk for a month or so 8. Compulsively clean out junk AND pay sister to take boxes (any aquaintance, or stranger if you're desperate enough, will do) 9. Gain/lose weight or change taste in clothes 10. Start again
