Hi sisyfoss!
I too fall under the category of gifted, with inattentive ADD. Like yourself I never really noticed it as an issue in my earlier school years. I mean, if you can get decent marks with minimal effort, who's to say there is a problem? But it really came back to haunt me when I started university, and had neither study nor focus skills, and it has haunted me my entire work career. You are wise to get it checked out now!
My son is also gifted, just identified last year. And he very much has my personality, wouldn't be surprised if he had inattentive ADD. But I don't want him to suffer from my mistakes. So I may well work to get him diagnosed in the next year or so, depending what I learn about myself and coping skills for inattentive ADD.
Looking forward to getting to know you more!
Karin
