Howdy Ya'll! I saw this message board advertised over at delphi and thought I'd join!! I'm Jann, wife to Rod, who's in the Army, and mom to 2 girls, one is 15 and the other is 13.
I was diagnosed with ADD in 1997 when I was 33 years old. It was an eye opener and explained WHY I was the way I was!!
Both daughters have ADD, whereas my youngest has ADHD. I started homeschooling them back in 1999, but recently we put our youngest back into public school (8th grade). It's a small school--500 students at the most from kindergarten to 8th grade. Personally, my daughter is enjoying it, but she is getting 'infractions' for forgetting the little things. Details details are frustrating. I'm not a 'detailed' type person and don't stress over them. Public school is and it is driving ME crazy that she's getting 'demerits' for forgetting to do this or that.
I'm not letting her know that it bothers me (because she would in turn make a big deal of it.) But I just wanted to 'vent' at the moment!!
Anyway, nice to see an ADDULT type message board!
I'm in southern Arizona where hopefully DH will be retiring in 12/05. We have 2 cats and a dog. I'm currently staying at home, but I used to work full time as a customer service rep on the phone for a major charge card company's point reward program. I had to quit that job because I had major surgery and I'm still recovering from it.
I currently take Concerta 36 mg. daily for my ADD and it's a wonder drug for me!! Lasts all day long--sometimes more than 12 hours. Oldest DD is on Ritalin and youngest takes Adderall.
ttyl!
